What is Theme Housing?

Theme Housing is an opportunity for groups of 8-16 students to live with others that share the same interests as they do.  Each theme house has the opportunity to share their interest with other students on campus by putting on 3 programs each semester about their interest/theme.

Where is Theme Housing located?

Theme houses can be located in any of the apartment villages on campus.

What is the process for applying and being selected for Theme Housing?

Theme Housing selection takes place in the Spring semester of each year just prior to housing selection for the rest of campus.  Applications will be available on-line, in the Housing Office and in the SAC and Norman Village Clubhouse.

In order to apply:

·      You must have a representative from your proposed theme house attend an informational meeting either Wednesday, February 6th at noon, or Sunday February 10th at 9:00 pm in the Norman Village Clubhouse

·      You will need to turn in a completed application to the Housing Office by 5:00 pm on Friday February 22nd.

·      The theme house coordinators for each house will participate in an interview with the theme house selection committee starting Monday, February 25th.

What are some of the advantages of Theme Housing?

  1. You have the opportunity to live with other people who share the same interests/hobby.
  2. You have the opportunity to develop your interest/hobby with the help of others you live with.
  3. You have the opportunity to share your interest/hobby with other students, raising an awareness and appreciation for your interest/hobby in others.
